Kerry Club Forum
Well done to the Kerry County Board for organising Kerry Club Forum on Saturday the 25th of January. This was a day for Clubs in Kerry to exchange their views, hopes and concerns about the issues affecting them going forward. Key note speaker on the day was Kerry and GAA legend Mick O’Dwyer. In a wide ranging address he stressed the importance that GAA Clubs played in player development both on and off the pitch and how vital a GAA Club is in the development of communities.
Mick O’Dwyer urged all GAA volunteers to continue to strive to improve their players, clubs and communities and this could be done by setting realistic and attainable targets. An important aspect of the game that he felt we were overlooking was unstructured training – young players just playing catch and kick. This he felt would lead to our youngsters enjoying our games even more, dreaming the impossible dream and nurturing unique skills and talents.
