Killorglin Rugby Club Notes
Written by Killorglin Rugby Club
The weather had a significant impact on activities this weekend and, unusually, we had 4 games fixed for Sunday 26th, with varying outcomes.
Seniors
Due to play Youghal today in Castleisland but was postponed as pitch unplayable.
U18's
Travelled to Tralee today but game was abandoned as conditions were atrocious.
U16's
Travelled to play Kilfeacle in the Pan Munster competition. and while they lost 21-12, this was a brilliant game of rugby with two brilliant teams. Described as a game of 2 halves, Kilfeacle had the better of the first half, with 3 converted tries. The home side were a much bigger team than us, but Killorglin rose to the challenge in the second half, with a reward of 2 unanswered tries, for an outstanding performance. These lads became men today and stood up to a much bigger team on a heavy pitch which suited the home side. This performance gives us loads to build on. Well done lads.
U14's
Conceding home venue, this squad travelled to Abbeyfeale to play the Semi-Final of the West Munster League. In what has been described as an immense performance by our ever improving side, they ran out comfortable winners and are now through to the West Munster Final. Full details of the final will be in next weeks notes. Well done lads.
Mini's
U10's and U12's were in Corcha Dhuibhne for the January mini's blitz on Saturday and full reports on these games in next notes.
Quiz
The Killorglin Rugby Club Quiz will take place in the Fishery bar on Thursday 6th February. There will be questions, answers, debate, more debate, pints, peanuts, craic and even more craic. So, be gathering your teams of 4 and see you in the Fishery Bar.
