New Cheese Shop Opens. To the delight of local cheese and artisan food fans ‘The Little Cheese Shop’ recently opened its doors in Greys Lane, Dingle. The proprietor Maya Binder of Dingle Peninsula Cheese is a multi award winning cheese maker who won the prestigious title Supreme Champion at the Blás na hÉireann National Irish Food and Drink awards in 2008. The shop stocks a large selection of Irish artisan cheeses including her own products- Dilliskus, Fenugreek, Beenoskee and her newest creation a Truffle cheese which is a dried cream cheese with garlic and pepper. The Little Cheese shop aims to cater for all their customers needs, “ we stock the finest cheeses and everything that goes well with them” said Maya. They also will stock a superb collection of meat and seafood products, all locally produced by partner Olivier Beaujouan which includes pâtés, gravalex, smoked tuna, smoked mackerel, pickled seaweeds and much more. The shop is a treasure trove of culinary delights and It’s encouraging to see local food producers embarking on a new venture in these testing times. We wish them well!
